Ronald Clayton Schwasinger- Fruitland 1920 - 2007 Ronald Franklin Schwasinger-Calif. 1948 - 2006 Ronald Clayton was born Aug. 11, 1920 to Frank and Isabelle Schwasinger in Nampa, Idaho. He was the youngest boy of thirteen children. He graduated from Nampa High School and went on to serve his country in both World War II and the Korean War. He received many medals for his honorable conduct. He married Betty Lou McGill of Star in 1947. They had two children, Ronald Franklin and Cherie Rene. He and his brother, Melvin, owned a flooring business in Payette and he also worked for Payless Gas & Oil for many years before opening his own service station "Ron's Chevron" in Fruitland. He was preceded in death by his son and ten of his brothers and sisters. Ronald Franklin was born Aug. 9, 1948 to Ronald and Betty Lou Schwasinger. He graduated from Ontario High School in 1966, and joined the Air Force where he spent the next six years. He settled in Las Vegas, Nevada, and sold real estate for several years before moving to Calif. Ronald Clayton is survived by his brother, Melvin and wife La Vonna of Boise, his sister, Naomi Lantz of Pa.; many special nieces and nephews, Wilma and Oscar Perez, Francis and Jim Jefferies, Gary and Doris Lantz, Patti and George Snethen, Darrel and Patti Betts, and Joe Wertz, all who brought great joy to his life. Also, his daughter, Cherie Dillon and special son-in-law, Ken; granddaughter, Cassie Henderson and husband Phil; grandson, Devan Dillon; two great grandchildren, Philip and Piper Henderson; and his faithful dog of 12 years, Ludi. Both will be laid to rest at Park View Cemetery, New Plymouth as well as the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, Boise. Special thanks to Dr. Ron Carroll and Chris Knosp for their comfort and support in "Gramps" final years! In addition, Dr. Branahl and the VA Hospital and Tina Heideman from the VA Administration, all of whom made his life easier. SERVICES WILL BE AT 11 A.M., THURSDAY, NOV. 15, 2007 AT THE SHAFFER-JENSEN MEMORY CHAPEL, FRUITLAND FOLLOWED AT 2 P.M. BY MILITARY HONORS AT THE IDAHO STATE VETERANS CEMETERY, BOISE. My father is dying It's 9 p.m. the room is dark except for a night-light and the T.V. Memories flood my mind and tears fill my eyes. My father is dying When I was five years old, he could do pushups with me on his back. He called me his "bucket of bolts" and Dolly Dimples." My father is dying I'm 15 years old now, and out of gas. "There's something wrong with my car." "Thanks Dad." My father is dying My daughter is born on his 50th birthday. I never saw my dad cry before. My father is dying Ludi, was that you?? Pee whew!! My father is dying He always had a story to tell. I wish I had listened more and complained less, appreciated what I had My father is dying I wouldn't have traded him for any other dad in the whole world. He was always there for me. My father is gone now. Thank you Jesus for your wisdom and for the dad you gave to me I miss you already "Gramps." Love Cherie
