Both of these headstones are at Kohlerlawn Cemetery, 76 6th St N, Nampa, ID 83687.
Dad, Chester Wade, is buried at Mountain View Cemetery, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd SW, Lakewood, WA 98499. When Dad died, in 1992, us kids all lived close to Tacoma and that seemed like a reasonable place to bury him. We also bought the plot next to him for Stephen. When Stephen died in 2018 the cost was exorbitant to have Stephen's ashes interred in his prepaid grave.
In talking with my Aunt Wilma Perecz, in Idaho, she told me she believed in Idaho you could have up to six people's ashes interred in the same grave. I called and talked to the very nice people at Kohlerlawn about having Stephen's ashes put in our mother's grave. They assured me that this was possible, but asked me to wait a minute while they checked on something. The gentleman looked into it and found that back in 1964, when our mother died, Dad had bought two gravesites. We were all so young, this was never shared with us. Ever.
When I called to ask about the headstone, I asked about putting Dad's name on it as well as Stephen's. He told me this was done. So, while Dad is buried in Tacoma, his name on the headstone in Nampa is called a cenotaph. Stephen's ashes are buried in Nampa.
