Belk, Sr., Larry Lee

September 3, 1943 - May 5, 2021

Larry Lee Belk, Sr. passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021. He was born September 3, 1943 in Knoxville, Tennessee to the late Woodie and Virginia Belk. There will be a Visitation for family and friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, at Forbis and Dick North Elm Chapel on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. There will be a private graveside service for the family and close friends at the Salisbury National Cemetery.

After high school, he joined the U.S. Navy and embarked on a successful 28-year military career, retiring as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. He then entered a new phase of his career as a Quality Control Manager at Shamrock Corporation and became a successful Licensed Auctioneer with Action Auctions and was a longtime member of the Auctioneers Association of North Carolina, AANC. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is predeceased by his parents; sister Gail Chesney; brother-in-law Pryor Chesney and special longtime companions, Rusty and Brandi and granddog Onyx.

Larry's survivors include his beloved wife of 55 years, Roberta; sons Larry Belk, Jr. (Kimberly) and Woodie Belk and granddog Thad. Also surviving are nieces and nephews from his sister and in-laws from his wife's side of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
