Della was a 55 year cancer survivor having battled the disease since 1955. She loved roses, children, and coming up with unique solutions to problems such as the time in 1957, she made a Christmas trees out of a broom handle, baby bottle brushes, green dye, cotton bunting, and glue on a remote Air Force base in the middle of an arid region of North Africa. The base commander heard of this and came around and asked Della Lorene to teach others how to make such trees. A “green” Christmas was had by all.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers or gifts that a donation is made to a favorite charity or to the American Cancer Society, the USO, or the Salvation Army.

We love you Mom!
