It was fun to find this on the Newspapers.com website. It was printed in the Idaho Statesman on Sunday morning, October 21, 1962, page 6. The story says the dinner party hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Herb Simon was attended by S/Sgt Chester Wade and family of Fairbanks, Alaska. We had just travelled from Alaska down the ALCAN Highway and reached McChord AFB, Tacoma, Washington on October 12, 1962, during the Columbus Day Storm. Carol Sue was not quite 5 months old, and there were five of us kids in total. I honestly do not remember going on to Idaho, but, then, I was only six. Do any of the cousins or brothers remember this anniversary dinner for Grandma and Grandpa Wade? Do you remember if Chester and Betty were there?
